TIBBAT - A sad and fatal accident happened as a result of a fire  at Tibbat's Hotel,  Poverty Bay  and the death of his wife and 2 children.

ENGLISH - Dr English,  an old settler at Waipawa was found dead in a bedroom at the Empire Hotel,  yesterday.

Some human bones were found last Thursday on the beach at White's bay  a stocking had the initial A.J.M. worked on it.-----   bones of young immigrant 
                        drowned in the Opawa River,  who was working on Dr Horne's farm  last September.  ------ Alfred John Merritt,  of Jersey

Thomas SMITH,  Charles WHEELER,  Gray MARTIN,    Edward JONES,  William OLSEN,  were charged by Captain Filian of the ship Charmian ----
PETERSEN  -  John was charged by Captain Davis of the John Knox  with a similar offence.

Auckland -  Fatality  - 010
SMITH -  a fire last night destroyed the Star Hotel  -   Smith escaped jumping through a window,  died  --  a draper from Yorkshire.

EDLIN - a girl about 12 years old,  had an accident at Woodend  ---  riding a dray with no sides ---  leg caught between spokes of wheel  -----
GEE -    at Canterbury Spinning and Weaving Company's works at Kaiapoi,  Gee fell from a scaffold  -------

KEMP -  Tom,  a scenic artist, died yesterday from lung disease, caught some time ago at Invercargill.

Murdoch, a sailor from the ship J.G.Coleson,  was found dead on the flats at Governor's Bay on Monday night.
                         evidence was given by Capt. D.Rae,  John McDonald,   John Paterson,  William Buckley,  John Maguire,
                          Sergeant of Police at Lyttelton. --- a long column  ------

Fatality  -  027
Little Currie  -  
a sailor known by this name,  on board the Huon Belle, ketch,  fell down on the wharf and died,  he was born in Carlisle
                        and joined the vessel in Dunedin  ---- an inquest will be held today.

Little CURRIE  -  at Lyttelton Hotel ----  Little Currie, a sailor on board the ketch Huon Belle, who died suddenly on Thursday last.  ----  Roderick Currie,
                              captain of the Huon Belle,  knew the deceased for 7-8mths. -----     aged about 40  ----  Thomas Tatnell,  employed as one
                            of the foremen of the wharves -----   died of heart attack -----
